OVERVIEW
IA global epidemic, research commissioned by the Federal government revealed that 1 in every 4 students in Australian schools are affected by bullying. Many young people are struggling to cope. For some, it’s become too much that life is not worth living. It doesn’t have to be this
way.
In this engaging, interactive, and impactful session, Daniel will unpack the MONKEYS that create bullies (feeding unkind behaviour), victims (leaving them feeling powerless) and bystanders (resulting in inaction). This is to introduce parents to the language and terminology to ensure consistency in use of community language as part of a whole school strategy.
This session forms part of a whole school BEAT Bullying program, where sessions are delivered to the entire school community (students, staff as well as parents). Parents will also be equipped with “what to do” strategies if their child is being bullied, being the bully, or looking on as a bystander.
