VIRTUAL SETUP
(for Head Teacher)

  • The meeting link (and passcode) will be sent to the school in the week of session delivery. Once received, please share with attendees so they can join on the scheduled date of delivery.

  • Please ensure the pre-program questionnaire has been completed.

  • Please share this preparation list for attendees to read before the scheduled date of delivery.

  • A workbook will be emailed to you to forward onto students to use and complete individually during the session.

  • On the day, please advise attendees to join the Zoom Meeting room approximately 15 minutes before start time. For student sessions, during this time, the main staff member who will be present for the virtual workshop can conduct a virtual roll-call (if need be), prior to the official start. Music and a countdown timer will be running up until the scheduled start time. At this point, Daniel will kick off and welcome everyone.

  • Daniel will introduce himself to students when sharing his story during his opening so no formal introduction is required. As a segway before Daniel commences, the lead staff member may want to say a few words to students and share why the school has organised the program, what they hope students will gain, and behavioural expectations, and then Daniel will join in and commence the session.

  • If students will be attending this virtual session from a common space on school grounds, unless a big screen viewing is preferred, it is recommended, that students bring their headphones and connect to the Zoom Session individually via their devices to allow for interaction and the use of various engagement tools.

  • Unless advised not to by the school, Daniel will arrange for a screenshot group shot with the understanding that the school has ensured all attending students have obtained media permission from their parent/guardian.

  • Unless advised not to by the school, students may be asked to take out their mobile phones (if time permits) as part of introducing the the Monkey Challenge midway through the seminar, if students are viewing the virtual session from school grounds. This challenge is a way for students to immediately apply their learnings after the seminar. See overview of Monkey Challenge here. This exercise to introduce them to the details won't take more than a few minutes, and once complete, students will be asked to put their phones away for the continuation of the seminar. If viewing from home, a link will be provided to students via the zoom chat function.

  • If possible and time permits, Daniel would also appreciate receiving very short video testimonials from preselected students and staff member(s) - to be taken immediately after the virtual session using zoom.

  • Daniel records all his zoom sessions primarily for the purposes of personal review afterwards. If Daniel would like to use some of the footage that includes the faces of audience members in the rare instance in the future for marketing purposes, Daniel will seek permission first.

  • Audio and video recording and downloading of the session is not allowed. Thank you for respecting Daniel’s intellectual property.

Collaboration setup by Daniel

For half / full day workshops ONLY, the following collaboration tools will be needed for group activities so ensure students are familiar with the following
  • Google Jamboard (super easy to use - awesome app which is part of the Google Suite)
  • Google Docs, Sheets, Slides (pretty sure they’re across these apps)
  • Zoom Whiteboard & Annotation
If your school does not use google classroom for online learning, let us know, and we can arrange alternate ways to collaborate

For the purposes of setting up teams for collaboration purposes, please include a list of attendees (click here), along with their position and year level.  Daniel will use this information to set up the breakout rooms in Zoom once the session commences. During the workshop, students will be asked to do activities in breakout rooms. Students will be asked to select one e-noter for their breakout activity. The person selected will share their screen, so the other members of the group can see and collaborate. Instructions will be provided before students enter each breakout room, along with a link to the cloud file they are required to complete together. For primary students, it is recommended that each breakout room have one staff member present.
